The aim of our school’s education is to awaken young people’s love of music. We believe that supporting their talents is our privilege and duty.
We do our best to preserve children’s natural spontaneity and joy in the course of their systematic, patient and often arduous work.
We wish that music which they will gradually explore and play on their own may serve as an inexhaustible source of satisfaction for them.
It is our intent to make the first years of their music education a memorable time, devoted not only to acquiring knowledge and skills, but also of opening the doors to the unknown and wonderful reality and entering a brand new, fascinating world of music.
THE PRIMARY MUSIC SCHOOL
Education in our school lasts either six (the Children Department) or four years (the Youth Department). First of all, a principal instrument the child will play needs to be chosen. In our school instruction in the following instruments is available:
Instrumental lessons are individual, which facilitates the atmosphere of partnership and enables the teacher to adjust the school curriculum according to the student’s advancement. Music theory, eurythmics and listening classes are held in small groups.
The skills aquired in our school give rise to an everlasting sense of success and profound satisfaction. It grows even bigger when coupled with audience recognition or a sweet taste of victory in a noble competition.
Overcoming individual weaknesses: stress and stage fright that always accompany public performances, as well as taking responsibility for the results of teamwork, are the elements that cannot be overestimated in shaping young people’s characters.
Our students may attend the school orchestras classes (string orchestra, big band), chamber ensembles and choir. From an early age they learn what it feels like to participate in both individual and group performances contributing to concerts not only in the school’s concert hall, but also such historic venues as the Kraków Philharmonic, „Wieliczka” Salt Mine, numerous Kraków churches, and the Niepołomice Royal Castle. They perform in festivals and competitions at home and abroad, for instance in Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania and Ukraine.
Our orchestras, choir, chamber ensembles and soloists are often invited to create an unforgettable musical setting for a wide array of festivities, meetings and other significant events. The school’s front office and headmasters provide information on the possibility of organizing such concerts.
